Scanning Tips:

The NFC Reader, on most android and Huawei phones, is next to the camera on the back of the phone and at the top of the phone with iOS Devices.

The NFC chip is in the top of the card or stand.

The phone needs to be unlocked before scanning.

Some thick phone cases can interfere with the card reader.

Some phones, like the iPhone, can take a second to bring up the option to open the browser


Activating NFC on an iPhone

To use NFC on your iPhone, open Control Center (swipe down from the top right on newer iPhones, or swipe up from the bottom on older ones) and tap the NFC Tag Reader icon. If the icon isn't visible, add it to Control Center through Settings > Control Center > More Controls. Here's a more detailed explanation:

    • iPhone X and later: Swipe down from the top right corner of the screen.
    • iPhone 8 and earlier: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen.
  • Locate NFC Tag Reader:

Programming Your NFC Product

Follow these simple steps to set up your Review Tap device and start collecting customer reviews effortlessly.


Step 1: Grab Your Google Review Link đź”—

  1. Log In: Head over to google.com/business and sign in to your Google Business Profile.
  2. Find the Section: Navigate to the “Get More Reviews” section.
  3. Copy It: Copy your unique Google review page link.

Step 2: Turn On NFC on Your Phone 📱

Make sure NFC is activated on the device you’ll use to program your Review Tap:

  • For Android:
    Go to Settings > Connections > NFC and Contactless Payments and switch NFC on.
  • For iPhone (7 or newer):
    NFC is enabled by default—just double-check that your phone is ready to tap.

Step 3: Download the NFC Tools App 🛠️

Install the free NFC Tools app from your app store:

  • Android Users: Search for “NFC Tools” in the Google Play Store.
  • iPhone Users: Look for “NFC Tools” in the Apple App Store.

Step 4: Program Your Review Tap Device đź”§

  1. Open the App: Launch NFC Tools and tap on the “Write” tab.
  2. Add a Record: Tap “Add a record” and select “URL/URI.”
  3. Paste Your Link: Insert your copied Google review link.
  4. Write It: Tap “Write” and hold your phone close to the Review Tap device until you see a confirmation message.

Step 5: Test It Out 🕵️‍♀️

  1. Give It a Try: Hold an NFC-enabled phone near your Review Tap device.
  2. Check the Prompt: The phone should prompt the user to open your Google review page.
  3. Success: If it works, you’re all set to start collecting reviews!

Troubleshooting Tips âť—

  • No Response?
    Ensure NFC is enabled and that the phone’s NFC sensor (usually on the back) is properly aligned with the device.
  • Wrong Link Opens?
    Reprogram the device by repeating Step 4 and double-check your link.
  • No Internet Connection?
    Confirm the customer’s phone has active mobile data or is connected to Wi-Fi.
